I need to get a monitor fast since mine just died. I dont know anthing about specs and whatnot, so I need help determining what the best LCD screen I can get for my money is. Like I said, I have $500 total to spend (including tax and shipping). I will mainly be playing games on this, so everything needs to look top quality.

I narrowed my search down to the Dell UltraSharp 2007WFP and the ViewSonic VX2025WM, but after reading countless reviews, they both have stuff wrong with them that I dont think Id be pleased with as a gamer. Anyone have suggestions as to what I can/should get?

What do u mean not the best for the $? How did come to the conclusion that's not the best for the $?

The monitor you posted r the most popular. The monitor that has best feature for the the price, but not widescreen is the samsung 204b.

You should just go to "newegg.com" and just search for the feature you want, to get a good idea on what's available.

You should that know that's no such thing as a perfect LCD without a CON.
You should also know LCD are design for a certain task that not good for other things, Like for gaming, color accuracy are trade in for Respone time to minimize ghosting.
