Editing several entries under Power Schemes, ended up with one
entry only. Trying to "Save As... " different settings proved impossible.
No matter what the new setting is named and saved, there appears only
one setting in the power icon (notification area).
Would like to restore the previous settings (Home-Office, etc.)
Searched this Forum and WinHelp but could not find anything on how
to restore these settings. System Restore failed to go back to a previous RP.
Any suggestions plse?

Search for acpi.inf, right click and select install. You need to enable show
all file and uncheck hide operating system files to find acpi.inf entry.

If that does not work, create a new user account to see if the settings are
available. if yes, your old user account is corrupted.

Tks: your suggestions were helpful.
I located acpi.inf and clicked install: Power schemes remain unavailable.

Then created a temp Admin Account, and sure enough all the Schemes were
visible in the drop-down list.

Question: Is it possible to copy a part of this new acpi.inf into my
"corrupted" acpi.inf? I have so many settings and tweaks in my present User
Account Setup that would take ages to redo.

For the attention of Ms Kelly Theriot
=======================
"Give credit to whom credit is due..."
I am indebted to Ms Kelly Theriot: her page, Kelly's Korner has brought me out
of many PC problems and dilemmas.

Thanks Kelly: I have now resolved this matter under your heading:
<Restore Power Schemes/Configurations>

While it's great that you gave Kelly credit it would have helped if you'd
mentioned that the item you used can be found in Tweaks number 204 right side.

What would be even better if some how Kelly added a search or did things in
a sorted manner.

Kelly works at keeping the site current. Have you any idea how much work adding a Search
feature would entail? I would rather that the time be spent keeping the site current. I
do not mind using the I.E. Edit menu, Find (on this page) command and then the Find Next
button, if it means that Kelly can devote the time to continue keeping the site current.
Wouldn't it have been nice if you had just written "Thank you Kelly for all of the time
and energy that you devote to your web site."

Hi : just saw your post this morning.
You will recall I did mention:"Thanks Kelly: I have now resolved this matter
under your heading:<Restore Power Schemes/Configurations>.
That's because I do make a "search" of her page. Just invoke Ctrl+F, insert
a key word, and you will find what you seek.
Happy hunting! :)
