I am trying to install an HP 4215 All in one. Eveytime I get to the USB
connection part, and turn the printer on, I get nothing. If I turn it off
and then on, it says, device detected but does not install. If I go to
eventviewer, I see an msiInstaller error - failed to connect to the server?
Any ideas?

I have found that often you need to wait and be prompted during the printer
setup to connect the usb cable or wait until you get an error message to
plug in the usb cable.
Take a look at these;

Try a different usb cable. Make sure the cable is snug in the
connections at both ends. Make sure the printer is turned on before you
connect it.

Go to the control panel, open "printers and other hardware", click on "add a
printer". Make sure the printer software is in the CD rom and the printer is
connected and turned on. Windows will walk you through the rest. Happy
printing...

Follow the links I provided. HP's website lists a similar problem and a
solution.

Sorry, but I I've tried them all to no avail. When I do 'Add a printer"
and say have disk, Go to D:, nothing happens. I tried D:\setup.exe and
D:\autorun.inf and it says the device not listed. lso, why when I print out
the setup info, it says the model is the 1240 ?

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/swPfinder?query=4215+all+in+one&tool=softwareCategory&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en
. I must have a corrupt driver / software disc for my 2510 All-in-one . I
trid every which way to install the driver and the process looped back to '
Install this Printer' . I went to the 2510 all-in-one software & driver
downloads website and install was successful ! I have high speed Internet and
the download from start to print was about 40 minutes . Remove spyware first
