Ryqril, sorry but all versions except Windows 7 starter and home basic have both 32bit and 64 bit available on the windows dvd and not pirated (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_7_editions), I work for microsoft and have 5 versions of windows 7 (legal retail versions) and tested the theory, some version other then enterprise and ultimate require you to install SATA drivers during the installation (push F6 to install drivers at the beginning) so the OS can find the harddrive, on both PC's and laptops, so web what version of windows do you have? How much Ram do you have, like Ryqril stated as 64 bit works better with 4Gb or more, the crashing during installation is improper drivers to boot up with or BIOS error and BIOS should be set to default when first installing OS before changes are to be made (ie: overclocks, fan speeds, optimizations)
