A good day to you all!

I need help for choosing between two laptops:

AMD Athlon™ X2 Dual-Core Processor for Notebook PCs QL-60
1.90 GHz, 1 MB L2 Cache
Chipset
AMD 780g

1024 MB
Memory type
DDR2 667MHz
Memory layout
(1 x 1024 MB)
Maximum memory
Supports up to 8 GB DDR2 memory
System features

160 GB

5400 rpm
Optical drive type
SuperMulti 8X DVD±R/RW with Double Layer Support
Display size
14.1” Diagonal WXGA High-Definition HP BrightView Widescreen
Graphic subsystem name
ATI Radeon™ HD 3200 Graphics

versus

MSI EX400

Processor
Intel Pentium Dual Core T3200 2.0 Ghz 1mb L2 Cache

Chipsets
SiS 672 DX + SiS968

System Memory
1GB (DDR2 533/667), Max: 4GB

LCD Display
14.1" WXGA TFT-LCD Display

Graphics & Video Module
ATI Radeon HD3450, DDR2 256MB VRAM

Audio
2 speakers

Hard Drive
160GB SATA

I am having a hard time differentiating the two processor wise. If it was about GPU, the MSI wins easily. But the processor got me baffled on which is really better performance wise...

Also, I do not mind the brand, and I'm planing to use this for mobile gaming (already have a desktop "pseudo" gaming rig (8600gts C2D E6550 3GB DDR2800 DC), so no need for alienware type laptops)

My friend already had this compaq and can play DMC4, UT3 on medium (he upgraded to 2.5gb). The reason I'm in borderline for buying this is because the compaq reaches 80 deg C on full load. I'm thinking the Intel could have lower temps.

Thanks in advance...

BTW I'm planning to upgrade one of these two to 3GB ram. TIA

get the intel one. cooler cpu, better gpu.

don't upgrade to 3 gb, than you lose the dualchannel suport, go straight to 4 gb! you won't see 4gb, but you'll have the dualchannelsuport

compaq isn't that good.

I wouldn't worry about dual channel, it really doesn't give that much of an advantage.
The intel one is the better one, but what's your price range? I think there's better out there.

The compaq has dual channel support, the MSI have none.

$600 or below. I really would have liked to be in the US right now because of cheap but good laptops. I live in the philippines so those two are one of the four with custom non intel GPU below $600.
The other two are Acer 4530:

AMD Athlon™ X2 Dual-Core Processor QL-60 (1MB L2 cache, 1.9GHz)

Chipset NVIDIA nForce MCP77MH

Memory 2GB (1GB installed in each of two memory slots) DDR2 667 SDRAM

User upgradeable up to 4GB (one 2GB memory card in each slot)* subject to availability of 2GB cards

Video

14.1″ WXGA (1280 x 800) TFT LCD with Acer CrystalBrite Technology
Integrated NVIDIA GeForce 9100M G graphics, Microsoft DirectX 10.0 support
Acer Video Conference featuring integrated Acer Crystal Eye webcam supporting enhanced Acer PrimaLite technology
MPEG-2/DVD acceleration
WMV9 (VC-1) and H.264 (AVC) acceleration
Support for simultaneous display on notebook LCD and external monitor

And Neo B2190

Intel® Core™2 Duo T5750 2.00Ghz, 2Mb, 667MHz
Intel P965 chipset
4.0Gb DDR2 / 160Gb SATA ----> Yes ! 4.0Gb RAM
DVD RW (DVD Writer)
15.4in. Wide (WXGA*)
Wireless LAN BG / 56Kb
ATI Mobility RADEON HD 2400

Most of the others are 4500HD, x3100, and GMA950.

My main concern right now is temperature. The compaq 107 reaches 80 deg C when gaming. Also the compaq Intel T3200 variant reaches this high.

No one tried to undervolt yet, and they say that notebook cooler is uneffective to compaq... Right now I'm still borderline between choosing on one of the four laptops...
