Silicon image is better than Highpoint. jammydodger May 28, 2004 7:14:51 PM I wouldnt recommend the silicon image Sil3112a, I had compatability issues with it and my old motherboard. P4c email@example.com 512Mb PC4000 2x120Gb 7200.7 in RAID0 Waterchill KT12-L30 Abit AI7 Radeon 9800Pro VIT June 1, 2004 8:12:02 AM I tried to install Sil3112a on my old P2B board (older than yours?) and it worked fine. Is your driver the problem ? 2323478 June 1, 2004 1:59:22 PM I decided to go for upgradeware SATA card 1022-I. It seems to work well with my SATA drives (Hitachi 120GB) jammydodger June 1, 2004 5:56:41 PM I had problems with and Add in Sil3112a PCI card and my old Abit SR7-8x board. I didnt detect the drives at all when I first used it, so I updated the BIOS for the card and then it did detect the drives but then froze. P4c firstname.lastname@example.org 512Mb PC4000 2x120Gb 7200.7 in RAID0 Waterchill KT12-L30 Abit AI7 Radeon 9800Pro VIT June 2, 2004 4:41:45 AM Probably your card was defective or the card itself was badly layed out or uses cheap componenets. Somtimes brand is important. I also tested Abit NF7-S (built in Sil3112a). It has no problem at all. So I don't think that Sil3112a is the problem. 2323478 June 3, 2004 9:27:27 AM Okay, doing a Sandra 2004 test, I have got a score comparison for my HDD. 34526 - WD 40G PATA (Master boot disk) 74283 - Hitachi 120GB (in raid 0 with S1022-I SATA card) Speed is much faster ^_^ Can't find your answer ?
