I am planning to set up raid 0. Can someone recommend me a SATA raid card (2 ports only) ?

I don't vote for Highpoint if you just want to use 2 port.
Silicon image is better than Highpoint.

I wouldnt recommend the silicon image Sil3112a, I had compatability issues with it and my old motherboard.

I tried to install Sil3112a on my old P2B board (older than yours?) and it worked fine. Is your driver the problem ?

I decided to go for upgradeware SATA card 1022-I. It seems to work well with my SATA drives (Hitachi 120GB)

I had problems with and Add in Sil3112a PCI card and my old Abit SR7-8x board. I didnt detect the drives at all when I first used it, so I updated the BIOS for the card and then it did detect the drives but then froze.

Probably your card was defective or the card itself was badly layed out or uses cheap componenets. Somtimes brand is important.

I also tested Abit NF7-S (built in Sil3112a). It has no problem at all. So I don't think that Sil3112a is the problem.

Okay, doing a Sandra 2004 test, I have got a score comparison for my HDD.

34526 - WD 40G PATA (Master boot disk)
74283 - Hitachi 120GB (in raid 0 with S1022-I SATA card)

Speed is much faster ^_^
