ok I'm looking to get a LCD monitor to watch movies and play my xbox on. i really would like to have the HD inputs and component imputs so that i can plug any device i need directly into it. i also play games and do some photo editing.
I would like to be able to play 1080p on it but thats not a nessity as long as i can do 720p.
Sharp AQUOS LC-52D62U. Becomes available in October. Expected price is around $4.5k
1080p-capable on each of two HDMI inputs.
4 ms (claimed) response time.
Before you buy, you should confirm that a DVI-I to HDMI converter will enable you to connect your computer. If your XBOX is a 360, it probably won't accept higher than 1280 x 1024 res from a VGA cable, or 1440 x 1080 interlaced from component, but it's hard to tell b.c. the manual isn't out yet.
For around $500 I don't think you're gonna get anything with 1080p right now, but I'd go with this Samsung. It's 23", has HD and PC inputs, 720p, and I checked it out at BestBuy and WalMart and it looks really nice.
I like the dell 2407, playing HL2 and COD2 is a blast, (as long as you have good video card)
I think it is a good all around monitor, not the best at everything, but it does not suck totally in any of the Game playing/DVD Movies/Computer work.
For the money hard to beat IMO.
