i've been looking around this forum for an answer to my question but didn't find it(i may have just missed one little thread, so sorry if im repeating an older question), so here it is:

Wich would give optimal performance in a p4 system, four modules of 256 mb, or 2 modules of 512??

(it actually has 2 of 256, and im just seeing if i made a big mistake with getting 2 of 256 now and 2 more later instead of 2 of 512 now)

Less is usually better, but you probably won't notice the difference in performance.

Go for 2x512, dual channel motherboards dont like lots of sticks of RAM. If you used 4x256 the computer might be less stable and no faster.

Plus you can upgrade to 2gb if you still have the computer in a year or so...
