What the hell is all this crap about a flu vaccine shortage? It's the fucking flu. I don't remember the last time I got that stupid vaccine, but it must have been at least 15 years, and I've only gotten the flu like once or twice since!

Most people don't need the flue vaccine. Hell, a lot of people who get it end up getting sick because of it!

Outside of very side effects, or those rare few that have a reaction (probably because of allergy to eggs), that last part's a myth.

Many people are hospitalized because of the flu ever year, and thousands die from it and complications from it.

People who have respritory diseases, senior citizens and children who have weakened immune systems should get the flu vaccine.
The rest of the people who get the vaccine are whiners.
People who are allergic to chicken eggs should not get the vaccine.
The only people who get flu symptoms after getting the flu vaccine are the whiners who shouldn't get the vaccine in the first place.
Research has shown that less than 1 in a thousand people have an adverse reaction to the vaccine. The reaction is usually swelling at the vaccine injection site.
TMK no-one has never contracted the flu from the vaccine.
After receiving the vaccine it takes your body about 10 days to develop immunity to the flu strains in the vaccine.

In general I think getting the flu vaccine is a waste of time.
Besides with the baby boomers getting older we need a good flu epidemic to rid our society of the drain on our economic system. :evil:

Well, yeah, that's why I said "most" people don't need it. The people who are hospitalized or die from it are people who have something else wrong with them, or are old and have a crappy immune system. Getting all crazy about not getting a flu vaccine is just stupid for most people.

I merely meant that it wasn't 100% Last year my dad, who is 75, got sick after getting the vaccine...

Gee, thanks, ksoth, but I've already read plenty of the CDC's stuff on it before. But you don't get sick from the flu vaccine. Sure, you can get the flu AFTER you get the vaccine, like your dad, during the two-week build-up period. But, no, "a lot" of people do not get sick because of the flu. Nobody gets the flu from it, and anybody who gets anything other than a very mild side effect (not actual illness) is very rare.

I didn't say they get the flu, I said they could get sick, because they can. "A lot" is such a broad term as to be specifically vague because I didn't know the exact number.

But, like the CDC site says, the nasal spray is just a weakened virus which can cause weakened flu-like symptoms... Are we gonna split hairs here?

Split hairs? I think you're already doing that, trying to get out of it with that thing about the meaning of "a lot." Pretty obvious what you were saying.

It's just funny, that after what you said to Rich, you come here sounding like the one guy everybody knows, who, as soon as it turns fall, goes around telling everybody, "Oh, don't get the flu vaccine! It'll make you sick!"

That's what I said. I said most people shouldn't get it because they don't need it. The added part about getting sick was not to say "Don't get the vaccine because it will make you sick," I already said don't get it because you probably don't need it. I simply said the part about getting sick because, well, first, my father did get sick after getting the vaccine, and all vaccines often have some side-effects associated with them. I never meant to infer that "most" people will get sick from getting the vaccine, because you are right, the vaccine probably does prevent illness more than cause sickness from side-effects.

It seems you are incorrectly interpreting what I meant, therefore I apologize for not being clear. The things Rich said were bltantly false and it was very easy to show that, which is why I pointed them out. Vaccines do have side-effects and you can get sick from getting one.

You dont get it, the government is setting us up with a infected Flu Virus if he dont get re-elected. Cant you see it, if he is re-elected, he will release the normal flu, the one that get people hooked, and have to come back and depend on the government for more Flu Vaccination. It ONLY END IN DEATH or DEFECTS IN YOUR CHILDREN. Get it.

I gues by now, there on to me for letting go public with the truth pertaining to the governements plan to hook everone on Flu VaCCINE. I know I am being watched, I can hear them sneaking aroung outside in the dark. So I dont know if I wont be quited by the heavy arm of free speach. But I will be back, and I reslove to get to the bottom of this dark and twisted sick health care system of dangleing those flu shots around to just a few, when they know we all need em, January, hell no, start stretching out the doses, mix some of the small pox vaccine in with it, at least they will have their needed shot.

I cant even imagine what this sitiuation will be if Bush is re-elected. SOme insider will radiate and infect 2.6 million vials of vaccine on us Jan so we will become bodies for these government doctors to justify their positions by putting us to death due to it has been decided we are defective, but does it matter that the flu shot made us defective. I dont think so.

Come up to Canada we have lots of flu vaccine. Unlike the Americans we are not allowed to smoke, chew gum or urinate in our labs so none of our supply was contaminated ;()

From what I hear high risk Americans are flocking across the boarder for a free shot in the arm and a real six pack of beer.

Hell we migrate south in the winter for some sunshine but we don't steal all your drugs. Now Americans are migrating North and taking all our drugs and drinking all our beer.

I think it's time to pee in the lab and not just in all the great lakes before the U.S drinks it. :smile:
