I have a set of Logitech Z-5300s and for some strange reason when I turn the volume knob on the control I get a weird "thup" noise coming from my sub and the "front right" satellite. In addition, the "front right" satellite is noticeably quieter than all the other satellites.
are you sure all the connections are solid and complete? since the stereo channels for minijacks are carried on different parts of the jack, its possible a full connection wasnt made. an incomplete connection could also be the case with the remote.
Yeah I'm pretty sure every connection is solid. I tried switching the minijack wire with another set of wires but same results. But if it was the minijack wouldn't the "front left" satellite be affected as well if they are both on the same minijack line?
Not sure about the remote. I tried to fiddle around with moving the wire but nothing. =(
It sounds like there might be some junk in the volume knob. My old reciever would do a similar thing when I adjusted the volume, cleaning out the knobs fixed it. If that controller comes appart I'd give the insides a nice birst of compressed air or something.
Yours hooks to the Sub with a serial type connection plug doesn't it, its screwed in tight right? My wife has the same speakers without that problem, she's running a Turtle Beach Santa Cruz soundcard, just out of curiosity what soundcard do you have? You could have a defective set of speakers, at least as far as the volume controller is concerned, its a jam up set of speakers though thats for sure.
Yeah it's the one with the serial connection and the remote is screwed in tight (just took it out and replugged it back in).
I'm using the onboard sound with my P4P800 but even when the speakers are not plugged in to the mobo I'm still getting the same problem.
I've had these speakers for a little more than a year without a single problem until now.. =\
