kvm keeps mouse lite on.

i hooked my 2 pc`s up to a kvm
and the optical mouse will stay lit unless i turn off the pc`s power at the supply? does anyone know why they are doing this?

are you going to bark all day little doggie?
or are you going to bite?

your kvm is probly getting power from the standby power on the computers ps2 port, at least i think theres standby power there anyway. this is normal behavior with a kvm.

well i just hit the power to turn it off now
i`m afraid the led will burn out in a few decades
it is just odd that it stays lit with the pc off

I sincerely doubt you will ever see your mouse led burn out :) You will have gone through many mice before that could possibly happen to your led mouse.
It really isn't odd at all that it would stay lit w/ the pc off. It has been a long time since I last saw a pc that didn't do that. All machines now days have power going to the ps2 ports when off. Even my old PII 233 powered the ps2 ports when off, lol.

yeah leds are rated for 100,000 - 200,000 hours i believe

thats weird because none of my other pc`s ever did this so i thought something was wrong with it. I guess it is good though because it forces me to power off my pc from the psu potentially saving it from power surges.
