1440x900=1080p

I just bought a lcd monitor w/ a resolution of 1440x900. i know that all monitors are "hd." if i order a blueray player and hook it up w/ hdmi, will it run at 1080p?

so 1680x1050 is not 1080p? its 720p? if so that sucks horrably

If your monitors resolution is only 1440 x 900 how could it possibly run 1920 x 1200??

The most you will get out of a 19 wide res. like yours will be 720p.

As for monitors that run 1080p you will have to get something in 24, 26, or 30 inches.

Above that you would have to get HDTV's.

There is no monitor which is 1080p. If you want that, get a 1080p HDTV, but it won't work well for a monitor.

really so my monitor of 1920 x 1200 aint 1080P. you sure about that.

Well, 1080p = 1920x1080.... so no, your monitor "ain't 1080p", but I would imagine you could display 1080p with only small black bars.

I don't see interlacing as an issue. Media were designed to display on television formats... 480, 720, 1080. Computer monitors rescale in one form or another to accommodate media inputs.
