i really like the samsung focus. i am ready to ditch my iphone 3gs, and the windows phone 7 looks very sleek.
problems i am having initially is thinking back on the original apple iphone, even the 3g, which were vastly different and inferior to the third revision - 3gs. i'm wondering if i buy a samsung focus wp7, if in 1 year i will regret it when the *next* version comes out. i realize the step up from 1 year model to the next can be vastly different, but for all intents and purposes, i don't think there is any fantastic difference between the iphone 3gs and the iphone 4. so if next year's windows phone will have subtle differences like that, i can live with getting one now.
also i know that the 2 biggest components to apple's iphone changes over the years were better processors and better iOS's. i guess since WP7 is always going to stay WP7, do you think software updates that apple had to put on entirely new phones might instead just always be updates on the WP7? does that make sense? i guess to put in an example: multitasking on the iphone required a firmware update but only worked on the 3gs platform and up, not the 3g platform. so since WP7 is always WP7, do you think any and all updates will always be able to be applied to any phone that has WP7, or do you think it will work the same way as apple?
I know that MS will be releasing an update to the current version fairly soon that will include new features like copy and paste. If you find that and the other potential features worthwhile, it may be worth a go. It may also be worth a go because it's MS. Remember, they generally take their sweet time when it comes to releasing brand new OS's and software, i.e. Internet Explorer, Windows Mobile, Windows, etc..., so I wouldn't expect a new version for quite some time.
