hello,

i've been trying to figure out how some software winds up on this list and
other packages don't. i can't find any rhyme or reason to it.
i know that you can add items, by going to the file types tab on the folder
options, but how packages that you don't add wind up there is a mystery that
i'm hoping some one can shed some light on.

thank you.

That depends on how the author designed its software. You can maintain
the list from TweakUI > Templates. TweakUI is available from
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx.

word, excel, access and a text document <notepad> are listed, but software
like ms works and dreamweaver aren't, even though you can open, create and
edit files in these packages.
