guys, here is my setup.

Abit NF7-S ver 2.0
AMD AthlonXP +1700
256MB Geil DDR400 x 2
120GB Seagate SATA150 (SATA1)
20GB Maxtor(IDE1 - Slave)
LiteOn 481224 CDRW (IDE2 - Master)
LiteOn 16x DVD (IDE2 - Slave)

The problem now is. I have a new Maxtor 80GB HDD 7,200/8Mb Buffer. When I plug it into IDE1 - Master. Bios detects it, But it wouldn't load into Windows. It's either it says "BOOT NOT FOUND, INSERT BOOT DISK OR blah blah blah" or windows will prompt some error about boot devices. I don't think that the 80GB is malfunctioning because it can be detected. I think there is a problem with the boot device. However the 80GB is in RAW format, means doesn't have any file format or partitioned in any way.

I book from my SATA drive(WinXP) which is D:
and the 20GB is C:

I have set my first book device in BIOS as SerialATA by the way. But it still doesn't boot.
Did anyone encounter any problem with this?
Any solution? I'm going crazy.

I think it has something to do with the Boot setup (specifically in the file called BOOT.INI) since when you plugged in the new Maxtor 80GB drive, the whole setup has changed the order of HDs causing Windows could not find the drive that has the right OS to boot.
You need to edit Boot.ini file to show the correct path of the partition contains WinXP.

 Good or Bad have no meaning at all, depends on what your point of view is.

Dude, why all the screwy set up. I'm fed up explaining how to make windows boot to dudes who decide they want to install windows on D:.

You boot from C: no matter where your OS files are located. Boot the the recovery console with your new setup, format the new drive which the PC now thinks is C: and run fixboot.exe.
