Hi, thought I would post here to get ideas about random lockups I have been having. I was running XP Pro and it was locking up about 2 months ago. I reset defaults in the BIOS and made sure the settings were set to Optimal, was still locking up afterwards so I formatted and installed Win2003 Server. Still getting lockups and I was at a loss, then one day about a month ago it stopped locking up, well, it has started again, every single day the system completely locks up. The mouse won't move, have to hit Reset or power off. I have hibernation, standby, screensavers all off and nothing running in the systray. I'm thinking it must be a hardware issue but I'm not sure what could be causing this and I don't want to blow a ton of cash buying replacement "test" parts. If anyone knows of any issue like this with my hardware config or has seen this before please let me know, thanks!

First thing I'd try: If your RAM is set at 200MHz (DDR400), try dropping it to PC2700 speed (166MHz, DDR333), or even PC2100 speed (133MHz, DDR266), which would be synchronous to your CPU bus.

Thanks Crashman, I'll try lowering the speed on the RAM and see if that helps, I had it set to SPD which of course was 200Mhz.
