I'm trying to remember the name of a computer game that I had but have lost.
i wonder if anyone can remember it but I've only got sketchy details I'm
afraid:

it came on 2 CD's
you could play it against the computer as either "skirmish", "campaign", or
you could play multiplayer.
It was a strategy game where you had a master robot which could build a
small selection of other robots or facilities.
These facilities and robots could build other useful and powerful robots.
You had to collect energy (solar or wind, depending on which side you opted
to control)
you had to mine for metal - there were patches of ore dotted around the
various "arenas"
arenas varied - there were water/island arenas, lava fields, "meadow" etc
the idea in "campaign" was to work towards the enemy home-world and wipe
them out
one of the home-worlds was made of metal

can anyone help?

Thanks. Whilst it's not on topic, I'm glad you could help.

Hi!

Sounds like one of my old favourites - could it be that you thought of
Total Annihilation? Great game indeed! There are still lots of extra
units and maps to download.

Check www.planetannihilation.com or
www.tauniverse.com

You should also take a look on Gaspowered Games - there are just on
their way programming the inofficial successor, it's called "Supreme
Commander". Well, that'll be in my shelf as soon as it's out in the
stores! You bet.

Was my guessing correct?
