Looking for a netbook

1_What is your budget?
I can spend up to $450.

2_What is the size of the notebook that you are considering?
10 inch. Any smaller is hard to me to type on.

3_What screen resolution do you want?
From what I have seen, anything in the 10 inch size range will do.

4_Do you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop?
portable.

5_How much battery life do you need?
I am leaning towards the laptops with 5 to 7 hours of battery life.

6_Do you want to play games with your laptop? If so then please list the games that you want to with the settings that you want for these games. (Low,Medium or High)?
No.

7_What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? (Photo / Video editing, surfing the web, playing music, watching movies, Etc.)
I intend to use the laptop for college notes, basic internet tasks, excel, word, and some programming( C++ Matlab)

8_How much storage (H.D.D Capacity) do you need?
I would prefer a medium to large SSD.

I intend to keep it for 5 years or until a family member wants to buy it.


11_If you would like to mention some other things about purchasing your ideal laptop, post them.
I intend on dual-booting XP and Ubuntu. I am not certain if it possible to rip XP into a flash drive and install from there like Linux.

12_Please tell us about the brands that you prefer to buy from them and the brands that you don't like and explain the reasons.
From what I have used I like ASUS and Lenovo.

I like the size, brand, SSD, and linux compatibility. Newegg does not offer the 40gb SSD with XP, but I am willing to compromise with XP and a HDD.
