This article obviously overlooks the grave weakness ipods have...low audio quality. In fact sound output and quality were not even mentioned. I guess the fact that this is an audio device means it's not important how good your music sounds. Just how cool you look with those earbuds walking down the hallway at school. Because your not listening to the music anyways.

So being just like everyone else is cool. I suppose that's why emos use them; they're cool because they (supposedly) DON'T conform to social trends (I wish my lawn was emo; that way it would cut itself)

Don't forget that there's STILL no removable battery, and no built-in radio. Sh*t man, I can record the radio on my ZEN player, and that came out in 2004.

All in all, another mediocre update for a mediocre product. It would seem that Apple is becoming complacent, just like Sony did...

As before, it's the Nano's sound quality and supreme portability that make it the ultra-portable music player to beat.

so that means bad quality?

Well it has a lot to catch up on compared to, say, the Kenwood HD30GB9. (Only available in Japan though)

As for comparisons with the reigning king of portable sound quality, Hi-MD... Don't waste your time.

i dunno... i have my video ipod and im still lovin it... no complaints for me...

EXCEPT: the upgrade to iTunes 7 screwed up... now i cant use 7 or even change back to 6... any time i try to use it, it pops up with an error... i can either try to debug it... or report to microsoft... or do nothing...

If my ZEN player screws up (which it hardly does), I just hit the force reset button. No repair fees for me!

I just found a funny parody of a fictional iPod model. Don't lynch me if the link doesn't work.

Ipod is way behind in video and audio quality. Just look at the Creative Zen:M. The display is quite clear and beats Ipod hands down. Not only that the audio quality clearly beats out Ipod as well. I just think the author could have been much more subjective and informed in this review.

That's not even Creative's best model; that would be the ZEN Vision (not M). 640x480 3.75" 16bit screen and removable battery. The only downer is a 30Gb hard drive, but for most people that will be sufficient.

2 things that I would like clarified (please):

- Has anyone else noticed that more and more people aren't using iPods recently? I've been seeing a lot of people using other DAPs.

- Is it just me or are the only people who speak to someone else with their earbuds still in their ears iPod owners?
