How important is dual channel memory? Is it simply a motherboard thing, or do you need to buy specific memory to make it work?

Is it particularly important for overclocking etc?

Thanks for the help.

IT doesn't really give you to much profromance gain so its not that important but its nice to have :).And yes you will need to by a matched pair of ram.

Depends on the motherboard/processor. It increases the performance of the P4 fairly well, but not Athlon XP's. You don't need any specific RAM to make it work, but you do want good quality RAM to make it stable. As long as the quality is good, it's not a factor in overclocking.
