1) When most of the people suggest to use a DVI cable to connect the LCD flat panels when you have one, is there some benchmarkable difference to justify actually go buy such a cable, (as opposed to use the analog cable + DVI to VGA converter)?

2) I am looking for a glossy surface (I work with a 17" CRT right next to it so glare would be a non-issue; cleaning is a bigger problem) 17" LCD monitor. What are my options? I know Sony and HP has one each, I need info from other brands as well

Thank you for your time.

Off the top of my head, these are the only desktop Brite screen moniotors I can think of, 19" and bigger....

HP has a 19"
Sony, 19"
Gateway, 21" Widescreen (SXGA)
Xerox, 19"
NEC, 19"
NEC, 20" Widescreen, (SXGA)

The NECs are my favorites. The NEC 20WMGX2 is extra good!!
