I cannot figure out what is going on. I have tried adjusted contrast and brightness and gamma and ATI's color adjuster and Adobe's gamma adjuster but my monitor does not have the brightness range that my other one does. I am using two monitors side by side and there is a noticeable (sp?) difference between the two.
My Viewsonic is much brighter and the blacks are very black. My other monitor, a Samsung 997DF, does not look close to it. The whites look like a 5% grey and the blacks look like a 75% grey. It looks like I am looking through fog on this thing.
Does anyone know how to fix this or can point me in another direction?
According the site, brightness and contrast are actually reversed for some reason. So, based on that, continue with the following steps:
2. Turn down brightness and contrast.
3. Put a black image (and perhaps a very dark grey) on screen.
4. Raise the brightness control (looks like a sun) until the true black just begins to turn a dark grey.
5. Raise the contrast control (looks like a circle with two halves) to whatever brightness you want the monitor to be.
