A friend has recently acquired an old Mitsubishi 200mhz (233?)/96mb/3gb desktop
machine and wants to buy a game for it. The game specs says the machine must
have directx compatible sound card and graphics. Would this be the case on the
Mits? It has onboard sound (crystal) and graphics.

TIA,

Which version of Windows is installed on the computer? With that speed
CPU it might have been sold with an OEM Windows 95 or Windows 98.

Search the hard drive for the DXDIAG.EXE DirectX diagnostic. If it's
present, run the video and sound accelerator tests in the diagnostic.
The default tab will indicate what version of DirectX is installed.

Many boxed game titles may be beyond that system's capabilities. Your
freind might find some good games in CD style packaging on the bargan
racks of chain computer stores or big box office supply stores.
