pen drives not recognized on win 7

Ihave got a new computer, on which i tried to transfer some data from, saved data on a pen drive but w7 does not recognize the drive?

does the pen drive still work in another computer

are you plugging the pen drive directly into the motherboard, or are using a hub/ports on the front

how old is the thumb drive have you tried reformatting it

what os was the computer the data came from

what have you tried to do to fix the problem
