Hello everyone:

I know/believe there is an XP setting for this, but I can not find it. When
I load certain data CDs into my laptop, it opens the CD's folder in My
Computer. I recall seeing an option in XP that is something like:

"Windows can use the same program when you insert files of this type" and
there were several options from which to choose.

It sounds like this was selected at one time. Does anyone know where this
can be changed to "do nothing" unless the CD contains an Autorun.inf file?
Any help will be appreciated. Thank you.

R-click the Drive Icon, Properties, Autoplay tab.

Under My Computer, Right Click the drive in question > Properties > and
choose the "AutoPlay" tab. You should find what you need in there. Even if
you set the settings to do nothing, then a cd containing the Autorun.inf
should still run automatically.
