Ok, so I live in Indonesia and that might play a big part to my question.
Right now I am using wireless internet connection. It rains here quite often, and when it does, the internet stops working!
Even when it gets a little windy outside, internet stops workin!
Today, there were like 50 tiny birds flying around my house, i guess for mating season, and the internet stops working!???
:fou:
I don't know if this is just a coincidence but I'm guessing that all these environmental factors are messing up the radio stuff for the wireless connection.
I am using a TP-Link 54m wireless ADSL2+ router.
I am really new to this stuff and I am thinking of changing to broadband. Will broadband ensure secure internet access?
Some more questions. How do I change to broadband??? Do I just hook a cable from my router to my laptop???

I NEED HELP. It's very annoying when you can't use your internet properly!!

Check with the ISP, if you are DSL there is no way that the weather would cause issues unless the phone lines went down.

If you were using satellite, maybe the weather can affect things, but not DSL.

The wireless inside your house would be just as immune to issues from the weather as the internet connection.

Ok found the problem.

So here in Indonesia, there are many stray cats, i should say will. I usually see them hang around rooftops and my cable connecting to the phone lines happen to be out in the open. So I checked out the cable and I found it all ripped up (probably because of the cats) and the wires rusted from rain, only a small piece of wire was barely connected. That is why the weather was affecting the internet. So I reconnected those wires and taped the cables and my internet came back to life!

So @hang-the-9, you were partially right, the phone lines didn't go down, the cables that connected to the phone lines went down. Thanks anyways!
