I have a Napster MP3 player that works well and such, but one problem I seem to be having is that, on my computer only, the mp3 player installs automatically as a removable disk in MSC mode instead of the better MTP mode.
If I plug in the MP3 player to anyone elses computer though it works as MTP the way it should.
There is a setting on the MP3 player itself for MSC or MTP, and I have MTP mode selected and it still comes up as MSC on my computer. I've tried reinstalling WMP 10 and then installed WMP 11 just to check out that route, and that didn't help.
I've installed every single available update from Windows Update. There is no firmware update available for the MP3 player. I've got all drivers updated for my motherboard/usb drivers.
I can't figure it out...on everyone elses computer (4 family computers and 2 of my friends, so 6 other computers total I have tried it on) and on all of their computers it comes up properly as an MTP device and it's named "My Flash MP3 Player" when you look at it in My Computer. When it's in my computer though it comes up as a removable disk and not as "My Flash MP3 Player".
I looked at the drivers that Windows is using for my computer versus all the other computers I have tried it on. My computer is using 2 drivers that are completely different then the drivers everyone elses computers are using. And I can't delete the driver files that my computer is using because they automatically re-appear after I delete them.
Anyone's 2 cents would be appreciated. Thanks a lot.
