I have an athlon xp2800 with two 512 mb ddr400. The barton runs at 333- should I set my memory to the cpu bus speed or should I just keep it at 400? I have tried both, but which setting is more productive?

If you can OC your fsb to 400, that's ideal. Otherwise, I don't think there's any advantage to running the memory bus above the CPU bus.. but you might want to dl something like sisoft sandra and test your system with both settings to be sure.

alright. I was just wondering because the maximum overclock I can get to run stable is about 175mhz in my bios. In order to reach that, I have to bump my memory up to 440ddr to achieve it. The settings in bios for the front side bus and the memory speeds run together as in -if you increase one the other will also increase, I am just trying to get the maximum out of cpu as well as memory.

The best would be to run at 1:1 ratio with 175mhz FSB
dont run the mem over 400 it wont benefit your AXP a lot anyway. Synced ram/cpu is almost always better specially if you OC some...
