Which one should I get, the Plextor 708A on sale for $115 or the Sony DRU-530A for $122?

Both are waste of money. Buy LiteOn SOHW-812S.

(BTW, Sony DRU-530A is rebadged LiteOn SOHW-812S)

Plextor is high quality, probably the best manufacturer. But, Lite-On is also awesome, I use them in my builds because they are inexpensive, work well, and have nero bundled. BTW, the post above is correct, if you decide on the sony, just buy the lite-on instead, they are the same drive.

Sorry mate, I don't mean to sound disrespectful at all (BTW, I really love your video card sticky) but it is not.

The Sony DW-U18A is a rebadged 812S, the DRU-530A is purely Sony.

DVD+/-RW NEC ND-2510A 85.00 You can't even consider the others...I have a Lite-on and a plextor 708a neither one works with Nero 6. You can have it (plextor) for 90 bucks if you want it. It is only a few weeks old.

Thanks for the correction.

BTW, Sony rebadged some some Optorite DVD burners before starting rebadging LiteOn. Which Sony drives are rebadged "Optorite"?
