I am looking to buy a new monitor. I am looking at a few different ones.

Dell 20"
Samsung 22"
Veiwsonic 20.1"

and if I feel like saving some money

Veiwsonic 19" 2ms.

Now I have a Radeon 9600 SE AGP graphics card. Will it work with some of those larger monitors or do I need to upgrade my graphics card? Thanks for the help.

P.S. What I mean by will it work, is for example to get 30+ FPS on Need For Speed Most Wanted right now I have to run it at 800X600 lowest graphics possible. So is buying a monitor with a native resolution of 1680X1050 going to make it worse?

If so would a Geforce 6800XT Help alot? Or would a 7800GS Be alot better?

Thanks again.

Your video card will die laughing at you if you try to run NFS:MW at 1680x1050. I'd recommend X1900GT/X1950 Pro/7900GT as a minimum for that sort of res. Unfortunately for you, you're running AGP, which means none of those is an option. I'd recommend a system overhaul next month when the first DX10 cards arrive (for either the price drops if they happen or the acual DX10 cards) but barring that, the 7800GS AGP I guess wil have to do. Oh, FTR, the 6800XT has a reputation for being absolutely crap :) I couldn't say if that is deserved or not though.

So a 7900GS Is proably my only choice? Ok thanks.

Ok I already guess I knew that. Thanks for the help.
