I just bought a gateway P-7805u FX Edition. I am not a big time game player but I do enjoy playing games in what little free time I have. While at Walmart tonight I notice several new games, like COD World War and Left 4 Dead, are calling for at least 3ghz. Does this mean I am already out of luck play these type games or does 9800gts help me make up for this?

here is the specs for the 7805u

At least 3GHz of what is the important part. All processors are not made equally, and some will outperform others clock for clock. Your display isn't that high res, so your game will be more CPU limited than GPU limited, but I think you're in great shape to play them. I play all of those titles on my 2.1GHz T8100 and they run smooth in excess of 70FPS. CPU appears strong enough.

Remember that most of these recommendations are still made for people with older computers with single core Pentium 4's and Athlons. Your dual core will be perfectly fine with the game and yes the 9800 helps out.

Since Intel is the only chip maker making a CPU that runs at 3.00ghz, the gaming industry would be shooting itself in the foot if it meant those specs for current gen processors.

BTW, Crysis calls for a 2.8ghz CPU and it runs fine on the 2.00ghz T7200 in my laptop.
