I have read that most 3D shutterglasses do not work well with LCDs because of their low refresh rates. But, according to much of what I have read in this forum, LCDs don't have refresh rates. So, would these glasses work on an LCD and could setting the manual refresh rate settings higher damage the monitor? I have a 19' BenQ FP93GX 2ms with (according to NewEgg) a horiz. rate of 31-81ms and a vertical of 60-71ms on an Nvidia card. Thanks!!
LCDs do have refresh rates (how often they can update the entire picture), however they do not have the flicker associated with refresh rates on CRT monitors.
If your LCD lets you set a higher refresh rate (and the monitor is corectly detected by your system), then perhaps it's ok, but I don't know for sure. Also, keed in mind that using a higher refresh rate just might result in slower response times -- at least I think I saw one example of this on an internet site/revie -- perhaps it makes the monitor work differently?
