Has anyone had any problems with Maxtor's 80 Gig HD? I have had the worst time with them. I put in one and it failed due to a read error (it couldn't read at all) and then they sent me a replacement and its showing up as an SCSI drive on my IDE/RAID but won't show up at all on my IDE portion. The motherboard (KT400 Ultra Soyo) will recognize it on the IDE/RAID but not on the IDE portion in the bios. I am just wondering if anyone else has seen this.

Maybe you have it connected to the wrong motherboard header.

No it was connected correctly. I think there is something wrong with the drive. I also have discovered that the Soyo KT-400 Ultra for AMD CPU's which is running High Point Raid chips automatically look at any ide device as a scsi device and treats it as such. I did get Maxtor to replace the 80 Gig with a 120 Gig HD.
