ECC RAM?

I was just wondering if ECC is a type of RAM. (i.e. is ECC a type of DRAM; as in SDRAM is a type of DRAM)
Just need info. for assignment.
If NOT - is ECC a technology which is available in non-parity RAM.

Don't mind them they are just craby cause they sit around on the computer all the time and don't get enough exercise. flanders has been grumpy ever since homer cut all his hedges down
