TO ALL;

I was just wondering if ECC is a type of RAM. (i.e. is ECC a type of DRAM; as in SDRAM is a type of DRAM)
Just need info. for assignment.
If NOT - is ECC a technology which is available in non-parity RAM.

why have you posted 2 threads for this question?

Don't mind them they are just craby cause they sit around on the computer all the time and don't get enough exercise. :smile: flanders has been grumpy ever since homer cut all his hedges down :wink:

This is a very detailed presentation of "memory basics" <A HREF="http://www.corsairmemory.com/corsair/products/tech/memory_basics/153707/index.html" target="_new">http://www.corsairmemory.com/corsair/products/tech/memory_basics/153707/index.html</A> I must confess I didn't get through the whole presentation. The lady narrating has such a nice, relaxing, soft voice I took a little nap at my desk. It has great information. Also a good bed time story.:>)

Zipzoomfly has a memory help guide in their buyers guide index:
<A HREF="http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/Buyers_Guide/Memory_kingston.jsp" target="_new">http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/Buyers_Guide/Memory_kingston.jsp</A>

Also there was a Tom's hardware guide written a while back, <A HREF="http://www.tomshardware.com/motherboard/20040119/index-02.html" target="_new">http://www.tomshardware.com/motherboard/20040119/index-02.html</A> There you will find a brief explaination of, and a chart-(pictures are good:>) regarding what the timing numbers mean.
