I have numerous articles, papers, documents and other scraps of paper I would like to scan, archive digitally and then recycle. I would like something which will allow for good OCR and would like to output all my scans in the PDF format. I don't need anything deluxe as I will mostly be using it just for documents, but I do need something which will handle photographs reasonably well. USB 2.0 High-Speed would be nice, but isn't completely necessary. I won't prefer to spend around $150 or less. What would you folks recommend?

I've had very good experience with epsons scanners. I'd check them out and see if any of them would fit your needs/budget.
