Hello,
Could anyone tell me what is the correct memory speed I should purchase for a Celeron D system which has a 533MHz bus. Do I get PC2700 or PC3200? I don't want to overclock.
Thanks.
Exactly what he said. Stay with PC2700 for the best match.

If you use newer chipset like I865 or any number higher PC2100 is your choice but to slow to be put with a faster CPU like a A64 or pentium 4.If you overclock moving to PC 2700 or PC3200 will offer large headroom as celeron D will overclock very well.
Others chipset like I850 or I845D or I845E take the best that the mothersboards support.
You don't want to overclock, but will you ever upgrade? If you think you're going to upgrade eventually to a P4, you should get PC3200.
Other than that, if your motherboard is single channel, you should probably get PC3200.
If you're going dual channel and never plan to upgrade, PC2100 or PC2700, whatever's cheaper.

Thank you for your comments. I went for PC2700 in the end. I don't think I'd upgrade the processor. It will last me for 2 years or so and then I think I would get a new mobo anyway as PCI Express should be firmly in place by then.
