I've been saving for an Alienware for quite sometime and I will probably buy it in the summer. My question to you guys is which one:

Just taking into account Processing Power and RAM which one would be better overall:

Model m15x: Intel Core 2 Extreme 2.9 Ghz with 8GB RAM

OR

Model M17: Intel Extreme Quad 2.5Ghz with 4GB Ram and 1GB Turbo memory cache?

Help is much appreiciated, Thanks

They are both very viable options but you have to take into account the resolution and the monitor size as well as the cost of both. personally i would go with the m15x (as long as u use vista 64 bit)

Personally, I wouldn't buy an Alienware. But since you didn't ask that, it would depend on your usage. Games that are only optimized for single and dual core CPUs will like the Core2 Extreme better because of its higher clock speed. If your games are optimized for Quads, then that will be favored.

The m17 has an option for a 3.06ghz dual core, take a look.
