Sorry if this is in the wrong spot, but I wasn't sure where else to put it.

As the subject says I am needing to run 6 LCD's off of one machine. What am I going to need hardware wise and software wise to make this happen?

Assuming:
1. You're running Windows XP
2. Your mobo does NOT have "onboard video" chip

Then, it's easy...

All you need is the proper video cards...

The only reasonable makers are Nvidia Quadro NVS and Matrox.

Or, if all you are going to do is clone them all, then you need some kind of splitter. But, you probably want to make one huge display?

Thanks for the tips.

I am needing to display stats from 6 different locations, one per LCD.

Widows features the ability to have an Extended Desktop across your 6 monitors. Then set up each application as a separate window to fill each monitor.

Here's another option:

Get that motherboard and buy 3 inexpensive video cards (if it allows you to).

Or, if you'd like a less expensive option....

Any modern board with only one spare PCI slot can accommodate 6 monitors with a used quad Matrox or Nvidia video card ($75-$125 on eBay), plus a dualhead in the PCIE or AGP slot. Or, add 2 Matrox Millennium 550 dualheads for about $30 each, or $60, if 2 PCI slots are available.
