Ok here's the story I just went out and bought a stick of ddr400 256mb. I have a stick of ddr 266 256mb. Now I cannot make hte 266 run at 400 didn't intend to. Now I have to decide what to do till I can afford more ddr400.

I'm plugging these into an asus a7n8x nforce2 mobo. With an xp1800+(palamino locked) and a geforcefx5700

So what do you think would get better results running 512mb @266 or 256mb@400 + some fsb o/c of my processor.

I can probably hit 2000+ on the processor with the cooling solution I have now.

The thing is if someone knows for a fact 512 will be better I don't want to try to o/c my processor

Either way is not good, but you will starve on just 256mb of ram. I would opt for the 512 and wait for another stick of PC3200.

Your CPU bus is DDR266, so your RAM bus being at DDR266 isn't a problem. Run it all at DDR266 speed until you get a newer processor.
