Buying a new Laptop! NEED HELP!

At the moment, I am contemplating on whether I should get HP or Dell as a laptop. Also, I am mainly getting this laptop for casual gaming - not hardcore like Crisis 3, Far Cry 3, etc.

My budget: $900.00

Here is a laptop I saw / customized and thought it'd be really good for me:

How is it? Thank you. Recommend me another one if there are any other good ones under my budget of $900!

Will you be using the laptop without an external monitor or primarily connected to a TV or larger monitor? Or do you need/want 17" the screen (which makes for a large, heavy 'portable')
What other uses for the computer? Any processor intensive programs used like CAD/CAM or video editing?
The HP DV7 Series are pretty nice but, I think you can do better.
