This one has me scratching my head. Over the weekend I had a power failure that affected my system. It was up and running at the time, transferring files to an external HD. I was away when it happened (had gone out for dinner - power went out there, too), when I got home, I rebooted the system, it went through it's systems check, and appeared to start normally, with no major problems, aside from some corrupt files on the external drive.
Monday evening (Aug. 27) I went to update my flash player for steam, and during the installation, I got an error notifying me I don't have permission. Ran as an admin and got the same error.

to compress the story a bit:
I did some digging, and found through the command prompt that Technically, my account is a guest ( http://i.imgur.com/Yc5fI.png ), but the CP shows me as an admin ( http://i.imgur.com/aZE4x.png [I have the option for User Account and Family Safety] http://i.imgur.com/08vuA.png [listed as an admin])
the CMD also has my account listed has having a password change on 6/14, about a month after the build was completed, yet it has never had, nor does it currently have a password.
The only thing I can figure is something in the registry got tweaked when the power went out

This is the only account on the system. I created a secondary admin account to try and straighten this out, but had no luck. (perhaps I missed something?)

Anyone know a workaround or method to restore myself back to Administrator? I'd prefer not to have switch over to a new account, but if necessary, i guess it's necessary.. :p
Thanks in advance!

Ended up having a corrupted profile.
Went through the transfer files process, only to find that it seems that a specific combinations of letters (T, R and E in no specific order) automatically default to a guest account, with the inability to change it.
Attempted using Tyler, Tree, Three, Tear, and Tripe, all defalted to a "guest" account, while others (Bob, Cookie, Alex, Steve) were able to be set as Admins.

Anyone got one for that? :p

I really don't know. Sounds like something else managed to get corrupted along the way. I'll do some more digging tomorrow, unless someone else beats me to it lol.

I'm basically at the point where erasing S32 that would provide an advantage :p
If all else fails, I guess i'll have to do a complete W7 reinstall.
we'll cross that bridge if we come to it, though (I have a few questions for that, too)
