Hello all,
I want to upgrade my shizz to an athlon 64 fx 53 socket 939.I want the fastest memory it can hold. 1 gig should be plenty i want the fastest and the best for gaming i will be overclocking.would it better to buy i stick of i gig or go dual channel?i was planning on using the asus a8v deluxe unless there is a better board.i was wondering if the fx 53 could handle ddr 550 memory?

pentium 4 3.2
oczpc3500 el ddr platinum matched ddr433
western digital raptor 74 gig 10k rpm
8knxp gigabyte
geforce 4 titanium 4600(i know get a faster card)soon!

More about : socket 939 memory

Seems like you have money to throw away, go build an alienware computer.

The FX has unlocked multiplier you dont need supper fast memory. Youd probly be better of with super low latency. Get:
TWINX1024-3200XLPRO XMS3200 1024MB 2-2-2-5 2x184 DIMM Black XMS ProSeries.

Dont need the PRO but if you have a clear pannel it looks nice(and money doesnt seams to be a problem).

So get 2X512(Twinx) to use dual channel and raise the multiplier to OC that beast.

Asus P4P800DX, P4C 2.6ghz@3.25ghz, 2X512 OCZ PC4000 3-3-3-8, Leadtek FX5900 w/ FX5950U bios@500/1000, 2X30gig Raid0

Nothing officially supports DDR550 Memory, its specially made for overclockers. The FX will not overclock to levels where it can take advantage of that kind of RAM.

Get low latency stuff.
