Help with NETWOrKING for LAN needed? - PLEZ HELP

Hi
I am going to this LAN shortly and was wondering if anyone could give me good info or a web site where i could get it from on how to set up a network.

We have 8 computer all with network cards, a 8-port HUB and netwrok cables.

We will only be playing games and maybe the odd file trade. we r all about 14/15 years old so dont say anything too complicated.

Please Help - it would be greatly apprecaisted.

Are you going to also be connecting to the Internet, with DSL or Cable modem?

Anyway, if you aren't connecting to the Internet just hook up all your PC's into the hub (with the cables) and setup TCP/IP (in the Network icon in the control panel) and give each machine it's own IP address. Start with 192.168.1.100 and go up to 192.168.1.107 Now you should be able to all that you want.

What is necessary for that please? (say ADSL, for the same configuration, to allow several people to share unique web connection).

You need a Cable/DSL router. check egghead.com or many other online vendors.
