Hard Drive Problem

Whenever I connect another Hard Drive to my pc (at work) the pc blue screens and restarts. It gives me a sys.drv error on the blue screen. The drives are configured correctly ( Master & Slave ). This is really irritating. I have an HP DX2000 Workstation.

Can you elabotate a little? Does the BIOS recognize the new drive? Does it give the BSOD when you try to access the drive? What OS are you using?

I have Win XP Pro - It picks up the hdd in the bios but when it comes to the log in screen the pc blue screens with the error. I will mess around again today, will let you know. Thanks

Case Closed. I changed the HP IDE Cable. Works perfectly.

Surprise Surpise Problem has come back to haunt me!!! And it is even more irritating than usual. A colleague of mine is having the same problems with his HP machine. Same specs everything.....I am losing what is left of what is called hair on my head!
