Hi
My sons laptop has a broken N key. Is there anyway I can remap the n and N letters to another key like ^ or ¬ ?

OS is Vista XP

Thanks in advance

Thanks for that. I was hoping there would be a software mapping alternative. Hardware for that key is not repairable.

if its totaly broken the only other way is to use the onscreen keyboard.
start/all programs/accessories/accesibility/on screen keyboard

or place a new keyboard

Okay Thanks, This is an old laptop I have given to my 8 year old. Was hoping not to spend any ££. May give him and external keyboard.

But is there no way I can repam the N onto another key by software change?

no...no way
the best you get it another keyboard language to maybe greek or something which may move the n key to another

go to control panel. switch to classic mode, go to regional languages, and change...see what you get

It's possible, but it will always be a pain to type on (and may impair learning to touch type). You can do it either through the registry (sorry for the awful ads, that was just the first page on google I found with all the keys listed), or there are a couple of programs that will make the registry edits for you. In the past I've used Sharpkeys. It wasn't beautiful, but it worked just fine.
