Blue screen and restarting after sleep mode in windows 7

Switched from XP to windows 7 home basic
My system :
Operating system : windows 7 home basic (original)
mother board :Asus P5B Mx wifi ap
Processor : intel dual core , 1.6 Ghz
Ram : 3 gb ddr2

Problem : Once i put my system on sleep , on switching on, it does not display screen.
My system gets blue screen and get restarted when it wakes up from sleep.
It always crashes again and again it has to switched off to switch on.
Few times it crashes in middle too.

Check your power settings in control panel and how and when the system goes to sleep. Make sure bios settings allow for sleep mode. Wrong settings will give you inaccessible options in power settings.
