Hey Everyone! I have the GEIL dual channel 2x256 pc4000 ultra platinum series ram and the timigs at ddr500 is 2.5-4-4-7. I currently have a Intel p4 2.8c and I want the ram to run at ddr400 timings so it can be sync. I have an Asus P4P800-deluxe motherboard. What would be the fastest timings this ram would work at in DDR400 mode? Thanks everyone! i heard that 2-3-3-6 works?? Any clues??

I think you heard right! However, as you raise your FSB you will not be able to keep those timings.

But with that ram it would be a shame not to overlcock some.
Lower timming dont benefit as much as higher FSB on P4's.
You could easily raise the FSB to at least 225mhz would give you a 900FSB(according to intel marketing dep. =Þ)and something near 3.2ghz. At these speeds timming of 2.5-4-4-7 will do the trick you might even be able to lower them to 2-4-4-7 or something like that...

My Geil PC4000 (2x256) didnt overclock very well, I got to 255FSB but past that it was unstable, im pretty sure this was a RAM issue. I havent tried lower timmings yet though.
I had some Geil GoldenDRagon PC3200 b4 and that ram is working flawlessly but Geil's product dont like OC at all.
In my experience it will work really nicely at rated speed/timmings but dont expect much more out of it.

Yeh thats what I thought, Ive talked to some other people that cant get a very good overclock out of Geil RAM.

No 2-3-3-6 doesnt work well with Intel chips but will with AMD. Anything above 400fsb with intels, the best timming to play with is 2.5-4-4-7 or 3-4-4-8 if you are going to oc past 400.
