I'm buying 512MB of memory (today hopefully), and would like to get some recomendations from people here before I take the final plunge.

I plan on upgrading most of my computer around Decemeber but until then.
current specs:
A7V333 socket A motherboard
1.5GHz Athalon XP 1800+ processor
256MB of 2100 DDR ram (I think its 2100)

Was considering this, is it garbage?

Thanks!

I wouldn't necessarily call it crap, but I wouldn't get it. There's a few particular brands of ram that I stick with as bad ram can just cause so many problems.

In the sam eprice range(2 bucks less to six bucks more) you can get Mushkin, Kingston, Corsair, Simpletech or Crucial. I'd take any of those over Kingamx, personally.

Going for best stability/compatability, i'd generally go in order from that list
Crucial
Corsair
Kingston
Simpletech/Mushkin

The closest crucial ram (pc3200) I could find was cas 3, and I'm told from a previous post that AMD boards like lower latency. Also, even though with my current setup the ram would only run at 133MHz (I think) what should I shoot for in this department for ability to reuse this ram when I upgrade? PC3200 sufficient? Thanks

PC3200 is sufficient and keep in mind that PC3200 running at PC2700 can often run with more aggresive timmings(specially top brands).

Asus P4P800DX, P4C 2.6ghz@3.25ghz, 2X512 OCZ PC4000 3-3-3-8, Leadtek FX5900 w/ FX5950U bios@500/1000, 2X30gig Raid0

That's exactly my experience. Recently purchased some Corsair Value ram pc 3200 rated @ cas 3, when I put in my FSB I66/333 it autodetected @ 2.5. With FSB I33/266 and little more voltage, who knows, maybe it could go cas 2.0 ;)
