Hello, and thanks for being here. I currently have internet through cable provider. Speed is not an issue ("up to" 10 Mbps), but the signal keeps dropping (shared, right?). Does fibre optics provide a more reliable signal? If so, how?

It's a point to point connection, but may not be fully reliable. It's only as reliable as the signal coming from the ISP. Given 100% reliability from the ISP, an optical connection is less likely to have issues from electrical interference (as in 0 chance), but you are also dealing with the modem dropping connection, the router, all sorts of things.

From a pure tech standpoint, the fibre connection is more reliable. Once you add in all the connections and systems that you rely on, it will be pretty close. But if you are dropping connections a lot, may as well swap and see how it goes.
