On a windows XP pro pc, the primary users profile got corrupted. So i created
a new profile and copied all the data from the old profile into the new
profile but excluded ntuser.dat, ntuser.dat.log and ntuser.ini. Everything
appears to be working as planned, however activesync 3.8 is not. It says
connected in the taskbar, but when i try to open Activesync it does nothing.
I'm a novice when it comes to working with PDA's. I tried renaming the
profile folder and allow activesync to recreate the profile folder in the
hopes that it will prompt me to recreate the relationship, but it only makes
a new profile folder with an empty guest folder inside. I would just remove
it and reinstall but unfortuantely thats not an option at the moment. The
original corruptedwindows profile is still in use and activesync works fine
however Internet explorer can not download office attachments, where as the
new windows profile can but activesync will not work. So essentially i'm
trying to copy the activesync application data from the damaged profile to
the new XP profile. Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
